When I felt God’s call to full-time ministry in 1984, I did not know what an incredible journey it would become. After struggling to find purpose and direction I had finally found what I was created to do. I returned to Mars Hill College, finished my degree and met my wife Debbie. We were married just before her senior year. When she graduated in 1989, we began our full-time ministry serving in three different churches. I served as Youth Pastor for 16 years and briefly as Administrative Pastor and Associate Pastor.
Now as Lead Pastor of Journey Church, I have strong passion to see people changed into a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) and a church that is passionate about God, each other and their world (Acts 2).
Debbie and I are blessed with three terrific children: Caleb- 16, Joshua-13 and Jordan-11.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, sports, running/working out, working on cars and sitting in the yard enjoying the mountains.
My favorite sport is basketball (but I watch them all) and my favorite sports personality is Dr J- Julius Erving.
My favorite band is Third Day.
My favorite verse is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loves me and gave himself for me.”
My favorite books are: Wisdom Hunter, Heavenly Man and Courageous Leadership.
